Fitness for Mom

Top Posts according to my awesome readers!

So, here's my deal....
Simply put I'm a woman who values her health and fitness. I believe in pushing my body into activities that my mind says I can't do. I believe in sweat, heart shaped sweat. When the mind argues with the soul that's when you find the strength you really hold. That's when you sweat your heart out and achieve your goals. That's if you let your soul win and quite the voice we all have saying quit.

Exercise is hard. If it weren't we'd all be doing it and there would be no need for motivation and reminders. Each of my fitness post come from my heart. I am either currently experiencing the issue or have been confided in about the issue. I bring these kind of post to you because I truly believe that each of us have an active monster inside, it just needs to be coached along until trained and even then, it needs reminders.

My background....
None other than experience, trial and error and a heart for a fit life. A little more about me, eh?
12 years ago I had my first son, a millennium baby. I had just entered my 20's, weight wasn't much of an issue and my body was almost pre-pregnancy weight the day I left the hospital to take him home. It's amazing what a little youth can do. Do I recommend having children at this young age for the sake of dropping post baby weight quickly...oh, hell to the no. Would I trade it for anything in the world...never. On to my 30's, I welcomed my second son...just 20 months ago. I went into this pregnancy in what was the best shape of my life. From my mid twenties onward, I was lifting weights, running and/or other cardio throughout the weeks. Fitness was a part of my life. I reduced the intensity during my last pregnancy because, well that's what you do when you're pregnant. I joined a step class (fell in love with step) and I did yoga. Throughout my entire pregnancy much of my efforts were focused on my hips and lower body. The day my youngest was born I was literally confused for a visitor not a patient who had just given birth. This would prove to be mind over matter because the post baby weight was not dropping off like it had the time before. As soon as the doctors cleared me I was back in the gym and my sweet little babe was getting to know the daycare providers. I resumed step and eased back into weight training 3/4x's a week and cxworx. As time went on I added back running to the off days of the gym. I ran right up to my setback in October which took me out of the gym for almost 2 months. I was amazed at the gains I'd lost during those months and am slowly gaining them back.

My promise....
Hubby and I have promised to raise a healthy, fit family. We believe in drive-thru's, we believe in Chips Ahoy, in fact, those damn cookies have spurred arguments in this household. We also believe in dinner plates loaded with chicken and veggies, salads, and fish with quinoa. We love a trip to Sweet Frog. We live for the outdoors, sports, and our gym time together as a family. We love living room family competition to a game of Wipe Out or Kinect Fitness.  As an infantry man, hubs values his physical fitness beyond measure and as a mom of two precious ones in this world of do this/do that....I value my peace of mind, knowing that I'm doing what it takes to be around for a long while.

What I'm telling you....
Find your fitness inspiration in nature, in sports, in the gym, in the outer loop of the mall, on the sand of breezy beaches, at the pool, or in the living room with the clicker clicking on-demand fitness. Just find it. Start it. And do it again. You will fall in love with the feeling of being a better you.

Stick around, read up/catch up. Comment away.
I love reading your comments and need the encouragement as much as the next person.
